Load cell combats misalignment

RUGGED NEW LOADING ASSEMBLY PROTECTED AGAINST ANGULAR MISALIGNMENT

Thames Side Sensors has launched a rugged new loading assembly which is unaffected by angular misalignment during installation.

Thanks to an innovative top-plate design which pivots freely about a single point, the T93 LA is protected against the undue mechanical stress and inaccurate readings that could otherwise be caused by incorrect alignment.

Designed for silo, hopper, tank, vessel and platform weighing, the T93 LA is supplied as a complete loading assembly containing a fully-welded stainless steel load cell.   Sealed to IP68, the load cell is suitable for use in dusty, corrosive and wet environments, including wash-down areas.   The assembly itself is finished with a protective "autophoretic" coating, which is extremely hard and resistant to corrosion, yet ductile enough not to crack or flake under heavy loads or stresses.

The folded shear beam design of the load cell provides high resistance to side loading as well as insensitivity to shifts in the load point.   Consistent accuracy under varying ambient conditions is ensured by the load cell's thermal expansion capacity, while a substantial lift-off prevention feature ensures safety and reliability in strong winds.

Available in two body sizes, the assembly can be supplied with load cells rated for capacities from 500 Kg to 30,000 Kg.   Covered by a five year warranty, the T93 LA is suitable both for new installations and for retrofitting under existing vessels, where it can directly replace older T90 and T92 units.
