Weighing specialist Thames Side Sensors has launched a fully-welded stainless steel load cell designed to last longer and withstand harsher conditions. The new stainless steel T95 enhances the highly successful T95 range of folded shear beam load cells, which have already sold thousands of units world-wide. The T95 is available complete with LA95 loading assembly designed specifically for applications where vibration or movement is present, such as mixers, catalyst vessels, axle weighers and weighbridges. The unique design of the load cell allows the loading assembly to be used in compression whilst keeping the load cell itself in tension, ensuring that weighing accuracy and reliability are maintained at all times, even when the assembly is subject to considerable movement or misalignment. The fully welded version of the T95 is manufactured from 17/4 PH stainless steel and is hermetically sealed to IP68, ensuring high performance weighing even in harsh environments. Available in capacities from 2 to 20 tonnes, the enhanced T95 incorporates all the advantages of the standard unit, but with the added benefit of high resistance to corrosive substances, dust and harsh weather conditions. The LA95 loading assembly also benefits from Thames Side Sensors’ protective autophoretic paint finish, providing toughness and ductility under the most severe loading conditions. The T95 range is also available with intrinsically safe certification EEx ia IIC T6 to CENELEC standard EN50020:1995, making it suitable for installations where potentially explosive environments are present. The loading assembly incorporates lift-off prevention, allowing it to be used under silos in high winds without applying reverse load to the cell. |
